Nose the the Grind
The sculpture seeks to explore concepts of nostalgia and escapism, taking a common place setting like an office space and abstracting it with Fantastical imagery. The main sculpture consists of a large dragon, a creature used as a means in escapism for countless media, as he sits slouched at an office desk, its massive head thrust through a shattered computer screen, as if overwhelmed by the weight of its existence in a standard, monotonous world.

Final Sculpture Display
The creature is an abstract representation of nostalgic ideas that clash with everyday life, being reminiscent of something you’d find in a childhood cartoon or toy line. The act of him crashing through his screen questions why one would conform to the “normal” option of something like a desk job as opposed to pursuing something that harnesses what inspired them in youth. This piece invites viewers to reflect on the ways we use nostalgia as a refuge from the pressures of the present—yearning for a time when the world seemed more magical, more alive with possibility
